The Balance is the second release and first EP by Social Eclipse. Like the previous album Plastic Trees, The Balance is an abstract concept album with a loose story that could be interpreted in many different ways. On one hand, it's a story about losing ones humanity; losing all sense of emotion and becoming this numb, robotic entity that can only mimic the elements of being human. Simultaneously it's about seeing the world in a different way, coming to the realization that this world is broken and dark, and trying to find a way to exist within that.

After Plastic Trees, I wanted to take Social Eclipse in a slightly different direction. More experimental, more electronic and sample driven, with the use of guitars being much more sparse. However, I knew I didn't want to write an entire album with this sound, so I decided to release it as an EP. Welcome back to Social Eclipse, please enjoy your stay.
